Tanya, I think I'll try and get to it. I attended 7yrs ago just before I
started with KWHB. KWHB and Congress had their own conference on the
side. It was a great introduction to aboriginal culture and health
problems. A bit overwhelming but unforgettable. Tim

Subject: Garma

Hi all,

I'm wondering if there are any health professionals who are interested
in attending the next Garma together. The subject this year is
"Indigenous health: real solutions for a chronic problem". The subjects
to be included are (as per the website):

*         Traditional healing

*         Maternal/child health services (two-way)

* Relationships to make things work - social determinants in
public health

* Infectious disease control that makes a real difference

* Health advice/education: effective ways of getting the
messages across

 I've already sent in my 'expression of interest form'.

I remember going to the 2nd Garma in 2000, where we had the AMSANT
conference at the same time. Any chance of something like that happening
again?

The website is: http://www.garma.telstra.com/EOI_intro.html

Sincerely,

Tanya
