Hardware clash - the last resort of the overworked help desk jockey.
In their defense the vast array of possible hardware combinations in
the Wintel world make the more difficult cases of troubleshooting
seem sometimes impossible. There is hardware in your computer that
the developers of Visual Studio have never heard of, let alone tested
against. Faced with most hardware and decent drivers the OS does a
really good job of aggregating this and running bug free, most of the
time. Knowing your systems as I do I find it hard to believe this is
a hardware problem specific to you, we have the same hardware at many
sites and I haven't heard of this behaviour from anyone else.
Can you give us the detail of the error?

Is the data available in the progress recovery widget?
I think I'll start recording errors that HCN can't fix, at least so
we can present them with more data when these things happen more than
once.
cheers,
Peter.
